Estée Lauder Names New Executive VP

Carl Haney, formerly of P&G, moves to The Estée Lauder Companies Inc.

Following a more than 20-year career at The Procter & Gamble Company, Carl Haney will join The Estée Lauder Companies Inc. as executive vice president, global research and development, corporate product innovation, package development, beginning January 1, 2012. Harvey Gedeon, who holds this position, plans to retire.

Haney will report to President and Chief Executive Officer, Fabrizio Freda. Most recently Haney was vice president, R&D, male grooming, Gillette, Braun and devices, leading teams in all aspects of innovation, including product, packaging, process development and engineering.

“Carl is a proven leader in R&D and innovation and has significant experience directing and guiding teams around the world. His passion for innovation and extensive knowledge of locally relevant product development will build on our Company’s considerable strengths and keep us on the cutting edge,” said Mr. Freda.
